Globe Sells 40 Thousand BlackBerry Devices

MANILA, Philippines – Globe Telecom takes the lead in the Philippine deployment of BlackBerry devices, beating key competitors in terms of sales and number of subscribers using the device, with over 40,000 units sold as of end-September 2010, a surge of more than 200 percent year-on-year.


Globe Telecom in the Philippines has sold about 40,000 BlackBerry smartphones in a single year causing a surge of sales going up to 200%.

“Globe has been a vital partner of RIM since 2002, when the BlackBerrydebuted in the Philippines. We both make things easier and simpler for our customers,” noted Menchi Orlina, Chief Marketing Officer of Globe Telecom, “We have an array of prepaid and postpaid offers where Globe subscribers can customize and tailor-fit depending on their usage of their BlackBerry devices.”

With Globe, customers are also offered a customizable postpaid plan for business customers with Business Plus. As an add-on, get 30 hours or 160MB worth of mobile browsing at P399 a month. For unlimited browsing, Business Plus provides mobile Internet access at P999 a month.
