BlackBerry may be set to open Priv pre-orders this Friday, October 23, according to an advertisement circulating the web.
The ad promoting the BlackBerry Priv, as seen below on MobileSyrup, encourages users to “order Friday” at BlackBerry’s website. The link currently leads to the pre-registration page for more info about the Priv, however.
Opening pre-orders near the end of October would align with the expected November release date. Carphone Warehouse and Rogers have already opened their own reservations, with the former expecting to ship the device by November 6th.
The BlackBerry Priv will feature a 5.4-inch Quad HD dual-curve display, Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, an 18-megapixel dual-flash camera, and a 3,410 mAh battery. It will run a custom version of Android 5.1.1.
It’s unknown how much the Priv will cost from BlackBerry’s storefront, but we know the device will cost $799.99 CAD off-contract from Rogers, and 579.99 GBP from Carphone Warehouse.
Update: Marty Beard, Chief Operating Officer at BlackBerry, has confirmed on Twitter that orders will open on Friday.
