What do you think the most important part of your BlackBerry smartphone is? It didn’t take long for me to learn the hard way. Several years ago when I purchased my first 8800 series device I ran into a problem. That issue set me back, and held me back from one the biggest updates of that time, OS 4.5! I know it was forever ago, but this problem can come back to haunt any user who uses a BlackBerry device. Beleive it or not, but your phone’s charging port is very very and let me emphasize it, VERY important. Sure if your charging port goes out you can always purchase an external wall charger with a spare battery like I did, but be aware you’re losing a special privilege. The privilege to hook up your phone to your computer and update your OS using Desktop Manager.

No need to warp your Battery covers anymore due to the fact that everyday you have to slide out the battery, and swap it with a full one charging on the external charger. The newer product to hit the market is the invention of the Charging Pod. This is neat because it allows you to set your phone on a dock and let it charge. No more need to abuse your USB ports. If you really want to be careful, you should use the Charging Pod as a source to charge your phone, and only use the USB port when doing important updates such as installing the latest Operating System. With the newer BlackBerry devices there are features such as a ‘Wireless Updatee’ and even the new BlackBerry Media Sync, but not all the time is this available to us. The Charging Pod has been proven be be effective, plus the price is not bad at all, at. This can become ideal in several scenarios such as the office, the school desk, or the nightstand.
