Volt – Possible New Name of the Monaco/Monza BlackBerry

Research In Motion’s upcoming Monaco 9850 and Monza 9860 variants may be wearing the new Blackberry Volt tag, setting to hit the market this late summer or early fall.

These are still rumours at this point, but RIM seems to be recognizing that touch screen devices are the way they must go in order to stay competitive.  They have also announced they will be releasing a smaller version of smartphone called the Curve Touch.

The variants possess the same external design based on a 3.7-inch touchscreen, but the difference lies in their ties to CDMA and GSM networks. We had earlier heard that the gadgets are similar to the Storm, but missing the SurePress click-in touchscreen technology. In any case, both the variants will integrate 1.2GHz processors and 768MB of RAM. – Device Magazine
