Distimo, the app analytic firm, has uncovered the Apple App Store for iPad, the Apple App Store for iPhone, BlackBerry App World, Google Android Market, Nokia Ovi Store, Palm App Catalog, Windows Marketplace for Mobile (6.x), and Windows Phone 7 Marketplace during May 2011. The major findings are:
- 96 applications have been downloaded more than 5 million times in the GoogleAndroid Market. Google Maps is the only application with more than 50 milliondownloads in the Google Android Market, making it the all-time most popularapplication in this store.
- 20% of all free applications and 80% of all paid applications have been downloadedless than 100 times in the Google Android Market worldwide to date.

Looking at the top 10 Free BlackBerry apps that have been download,  the top 5 are-BBM, Facebook, Poynt, Pandora and Crunch SMS? Twitter for BlackBerry came in 6th right after CrunchSMS which is kind of surprising, but yet isn’t. You would think by now Twitter would be in the top 5 but the truth is, there are more people out there who use SMS than using Twitter for BlackBerry. Another reason why T4BB is so low is because of the 3rd party Twitter clients out there. Not every BlackBerry user tweets from T4BB. I myself am a SocialScope user and we must account for UberSocial’s BlackBerry tweeters.
