Extracted from the forum is a new theme review by Raypho. Our forums manager markaveli420 has been hard at work crafting up theme reviews, this one being BST. It’s not about quantity its about quality which is exactly why this post made it to the blog. Not that the rest are bad, I encourage everyone who is a theme enthusiast to check out the rest of Mark’s theme reviews under “BlackBerry Themes” topic so you can access photos you can’t get anywhere else, plus get an analysis and review of the theme’s functionality. Read more for a a preview of what you can find in the forum.

For this review I am reviewing BST. BST is a premium theme created by Raypho themes. As you all know I love his work so I enjoyed writing this review and reviewing this theme. In my opinion BST is simply one of the best.

First things I notice on the home screen: a three slot dock located at top left of the screen, 6 enlarged icons on the center of the screen that light up when selected. Below the enlarged icons is another 6 icons. OS 6.1 icons to be exact. All docks can be hidden and unhidden with simple shortcuts explained below.

To hide the dock in the middle of the screen on non-touch devices its ESC to close and space to open dock. Alt 1-4 hides the bottom and top docks. For touch screen devices you can hide the middle dock by pressing ESC and unhide by touching the area. To hide the top and bottom docks the shortcut is to touch the left or right part below upper banner and touch the icons to unhide.

On the home screen the current date is shown at the right bottom. The time is displayed on the top center of the homescreen. To the right of the time is a sound profiles icon and if you click your signal it will take you to signal options. Battery indicator is placed on the bottom left.

The selection color of this theme is very unique its a transparent color. The icons in the center of the screen that are larger then normal icons are white when unselected but when they are selected they turn gray/blue.

A series of screen shots to show the selection color for each icon

As a result once again Raypho has created a likable theme. Not every wallpaper is freindly when the middle dock is unhidden but if you choose the right one it works well. Plus when you hide the middle dock it makes any wallpaper freindly. The default black wallpaper is a good fit for it. Also I found out that the default OS wallpaper “ripples” worked excellent. I give this theme a 5/5. BST is a unique looking theme with a nice layout. I really like this one a lot and I’m sure you will too. Feel free to post your own screen shots in the comments if you own this theme and feedback about the review is welcomed.
