Netflix Still Says No to PlayBook

Despite an overwhelming showing of support for Netflix to be supported on the BlackBerry PlayBook, Netflix has stood their ground on not supporting the BlackBerry device.

Phillip Whittle took started a petition called Netflix: Offer Support for RIM BlackBerry Devices.  The petition has garnered over 5,400 signatures to date, yet reported by The Star, the California based company Netflix, will not change their stand.

Many supporters of the BlackBerry PlayBook threatened to cancel their Netflix accounts, yet Netflix stated the petition “would not change our development plans, which do not include BlackBerry at this time.”

Although currently supporting Android and Apple products, Netflix, with more than 24 million subscribers in the U.S. and Canada alone with many more internationally, has said that it does not plan to support BlackBerry devices, including the PlayBook and has not indicated if a service agreement may ultimately be achieved.
