BlackBerry Torch Sales

Bonjour!,

Comment Ça va? Je suis tres bien, merci! So, rumor has it that the Torch sold roughly 150K over this opening weekend. If you ask me, that’s a lot of devices for a few days being it is locked and only supported by ONE carrier, AT&T. Is it a dent on the amount of Berrys that are out there? Of course not, but, it made an impression. I saw someone purchase a new Torch on Saturday and they looked happy. I played with one and to me, it felt like a good investment. I will acquire one when the time is right. Right now, it’s only on AT&T, I’m not going to pay full + the unlocking price, and I want to wait until it gets most kinks worked as well some good apps that I’m used to having. Logically, the reason it has sold so little, is that it’s offered on one carrier. For BlackBerry, you need options. Whether it’s a 9000/9650/9700 if you want a Bold, you can get one from either of the Big 4. Same with the Curves. If you want an 83xx series, all you need to know is which carrier has 3G or a cheaper plan. Want an 85xx or 8900? The option is there with top carriers and a few small carriers offer 85xx devices. If the Torch arrives to T-Mobile or gets cheaper for full purchase then it will sell more, a lot more. That’s what I think. What about you? Amazon and others are already slashing prices on the Torch. With $99 dollars and a signature away (Contract agreement), you can walk out with a Torch for about a Benjamin. Of course this hot release hasn’t reached a million sales yet, but be sure to know, NO major bugs have been reported. Absolutely no reception problems!  Enjoy your BlackBerry!
