BlackBerry has released an official video of the BlackBerry Priv today, giving us our first look at the BlackBerry Hub on Android.
The Hub found on the Priv looks quite similar to its BlackBerry 10 counterpart. It can even be accessed from anywhere by swiping up from the home button. A unified display shows emails, meeting invitations, and BBM messages, while a swipe down reveals upcoming calendar appointments. Tapping on a BBM message allows you to respond from within the app, although it’s unknown how this will work with third-party apps like Facebook.
The video also features the BlackBerry Priv’s physical keyboard in action, demonstrating the ability to choose word suggestions by swiping up on the keyboard. This is identical to the way it works on the BlackBerry Passport.
The BlackBerry Priv is expected to launch in November with Android 5.1.1. It will feature a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 5.4-inch Quad HD AMOLED display. Customers in the UK can pre-order one from Carphone Warehouse here.
