BlackBerry PlayBook App Trial For Social Workers

RIM’s new BlackBerry PlayBook is staying true to its aims of innovation and helping its users make life more efficient. With the help of the software company Northgate, the Surrey County Council will roll out a PlayBook application trial for 20 social workers that will help them get closer to members of the community and have easy access to their records. The application gives social workers secure access to care records and allows them to complete assessments and update details while making home visits. The life-changing trial will begin in July, following the official release of the BlackBerry PlayBook in the UK on the 16th of June.

Surrey’s County Council head of information technology and management, Paul Brocklehurst, mentioned “We’re proud to be chosen for this trial–it will allow social workers to work more efficiently and securely.”

The county council provides care and support for more than 22,000 adults with social care needs.
