Earlier today in NYC,  Research In Motion along with AT&T have officially announced the BlackBerry 9800 and have confirmed it as codname ‘Torch’. The reason being for the name Torch is said to be because in the development of the WebKit Browser, they dealt with Torch Mobile, so like it or not, we can see where the name came from. The all new Torch 9800 is unique because not only is it a full functional touchscreen device, it is also super QWERTY with a slide out qwerty keyboard. Along with a new WebKit Browser the Torch will be the first BlackBerry to come out with the new OS6 that has been refreshed, but yet has loads of new features that will enhance your BlackBerry user- experience . AT&T has already put up the device on their website and the BlackBerry Torch will go on sale August 12th for $199 with a two year plan. Stay tuned for more details coming up!

Will you be getting the Torch? Remember the Monolith? Word has it, that they were indeed built for the all new Torch!!
