In an article published on The Globe and Mail which featured a fast-growing Canadian brand and featured the list, BlackBerry ranked 4th — maintaining its 2010 rank on the same list.
The list is based on the companies with the biggest “brand value,” or the slice of a company’s economic performance that can be attributed to its marketing and branding power.
BlackBerry’s #4 rank was based on a brand value of $6.45-billion. The figure is 7% higher compared to its 2010 results when it also placed 4th.
BlackBerry’s brand value for the Best Canadian Brands 2012 was based on the results for Best Global Brands 2011, where BlackBerry is also listed. Because of Interbrand’s policy on re-valuing brands once a year, the results for BlackBerry will again be updated for the Best Global Brands 2012.
