Have you ever experienced a time where you pull your beloved BlackBerry out and you find it dead? If you’re like me, then you experience it at least once or twice a week. Some of you reading may be thinking, “Well why dosen’t the idiot just charge it?” And the simple reason is most nights when I finally get home around a charger I am dead tired and completely pass out without plugging in any of my phones. When I wake up to next morning I look over at my night stand and my first thought is instantly OH CRAP. I toss it on the charger well I get in the shower to get ready but then I am off for most of the day. I have a car charger but when you do as much driving as I do, your Radar Detector becomes a little more important.
So I have been looking around for an app that will tell me what I am using the most battery on and be able to give me some details on how my battery is, what the temp is at and the actual percentage that the battery is at. So I did as most people would. Go to the App World and start browsing. I found an app that claimed to do what I needed it to do called Battery Watch. I installed it and as soon as it was done I pulled it up and looked around. I was disappointed very quickly. When I am looking for an app that says it will tell me what I am using the most battery on I expect one that claims it can do so to do it. The app dose nothing of the sort. I have looked in every menu and every option for it. From the start I was already disappointed with the app but I thought I would keep giving it a chance for the few things it could do.

So when you download an app you are not expecting it to kill the battery quicker on your BlackBerry are you? This app dose just that. When I first installed the app I was sitting at 100% battery. Within an hour my battery was down to 70%. I tried a few batteries to see if it was just my battery was maybe dieing and it did the same thing with the other batteries. I uninstalled the app then decided to charge it and did my normal BBM messages, emails, texting and phone calls and the battery did not even come down a bit form its full charge in a hour.
Before I did delete it though I grabbed a few screen shots of it, capturing the “Daily Battery Log, and its Weekly Battery Log” and both were blank? I hope I am not the only person confused by this because if it is supposed to log my usage and dosent show anything on there what is the point?
So I decided to reinstall the app to get some screen shots and low and behold it did the same thing to my battery again and I got a picture of their little notification icon that constantly sits in your notification bar.
If you asked me to tell you one good thing about this app I would only be able to come up with 1 thing. I like that it has a notification icon in your Alert area but other than that I was not impressed or happy with the application. It didn’t serve its purpose on which it was said to do. So on a scale of 1 to 10 I give the app a solid 2. I would reccomend staying away from it at all costs.
