Amazon has finally rolled out its unlimited eBook rental service in India. BlackBerry device owners from the country can now take advantage of the service for an affordable price of ₹199 ($3 US) a month.
If you think that’s sweet, it gets even better. For only the fist month, customers can obtain membership for only ₹99 ($1.50 US).
For the prices mentioned above, users gain access to over one million eBooks to choose from. In addition, you are not limited to a Kindle e-reader or tablet to enjoy these virtual books on the go. Instead, all you have to do is download the Kindle application which is available for BlackBerry 10.
The service is no doubt more affordable than the price Amazon charges its US readers. Instead of the $9.99 US price tag United States customers are required to pay on a monthly basis, users from India are only charged $3 US per month. The price difference is most likely due to the lower number of titles available to subscribers from India.
As of now, the catalog for users from India is limited to only recent releases from :
- Popular Indian authors.
- International best-sellers.
In addition, you should find self-help and management books available in the service.
You can download the Kindle application for your BlackBerry 10 device here at BlackBerry World. Those from India who are interested in subscribing to the device can do so here (they offer a 6 and 12 month options, however, it is recommended to test-try the service for a month to see if there are books that actually interest you instead of wasting money).
