Cloud-based Enterprise Mobile Policy Management Platform enables visibility and real-time remediation of previously unmanageable costs

MONTREAL–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Trellia Networks (www.trellia.com) today announced that it will add support for BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad and Android devices in addition to mobile-enabled notebooks, as part of the Trellia mobile policy management (MPM) platform. Trellia’s new MPM solution provides enterprise IT with a dashboard to identify and control unmanaged costs which can represent up to 35 percent of their wireless spend. Enterprises will now have cross-platform mobility management capabilities to assess mobile usage patterns in real time and set the applicable policies to remediate cost concerns of smartphones making their way into organizations.

According to Nick Jones, VP Distinguished Analyst at Gartner: “Users will request an ever-wider choice of devices and platforms driven by fashion and personal preference. Innovative new devices will continue to emerge through 2015.”

In addition to its existing capabilities for managing costs and security on notebooks, Trellia’s initial support of smartphones and tablets will provide real-time metrics of international roaming costs, 3G overage costs, Wi-Fi versus 3G network usage, trusted network security levels and asset information. Software releases of the various devices will be phased in during 2010 and through early 2011, including additional security features.

“As carriers have started to eliminate unlimited data plan pricing due to an exponential increase in data traffic on their networks, cost management will be crucial,” said Giovanni Forte, CEO, Trellia. “The Trellia MPM will enable IT to appropriately manage a diverse device base of mobile users by selecting appropriate data plans, eliminating extra costs and remediating issues in real time, not after the fact. This will ultimately help enterprise IT faced with the pressure of allowing different smartphones and tablets into the enterprise while ensuring compliance with corporate standards.”

Trellia will demonstrate its Mobile Policy Management platform with BlackBerry, iPhone, iPad, Android and mobile-enabled notebooks at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo in Orlando, Florida, from October 18 to 21 at Trellia Booth # 1220.
