While posting details surrounding one of RIM’s latest contest where they are offering BlackBerry and Facebook users to become a protégé of one of their 6 celebrity BBM Challenge Council members, I noticed something worth mentioning here on the blog.
Within reading the fine print of the official rules in regards to the contest, item no.6 which covers the prizes, RIM states that each finalist and his or her Team members (if applicable) will receive a BlackBerry® Bold™ 9830 smartphone or BlackBerry® Bold™ 9930 smartphone for their participation in The BBM Challenge Council program. BlackBerry Bold 9830? I don’t recall any announcement or rumors surrounding this device model so it is interesting to see what RIM is talking about here. For all we know, this could be a typing error. What do you all think of this? Error on RIM’s part? Or is a Bold 9830 coming to us in the near future? Below is the entire paragraph where RIM mentions the secretive Bold 9830.
Finalist Prizes: Each Finalist and his or her Team members (if applicable) will receive a BlackBerry® Bold™ 9830 smartphone or BlackBerry® Bold™ 9930 smartphone for their participation in The BBM Challenge Council program. Each Finalist and his or her Team Members will be able to keep the smartphone after the duration of the Contest. Service plans for the duration of The BBM Challenge Council program will be provided to Finalists and Team members at the discretion of Sponsor. Not all Finalists or Team members will receive service plans. ARV of each Finalist Prize: $300 USD.
