RIM Senior Executive John Vandermay,VP of BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Steps Down

Two days before RIM’s critical second quarter earnings report , RIM has learned that one of its senior executives has left the company, making it a total of five senior executive to leave RIM in the last six months. John Vandermay, formerly vice president of BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) software at Research In Motion Ltd., has made a decision to leave Research in Motion, makers of BlackBerry. Shortly after his announcement, on Tuesday afternoon, Gemcom Software International Inc. announced Mr. Vandermay was joining the Vancouver-based mining software company as vice president of product development.

It’s really sad to see all of these execs leave, especially in the middle of the company’s largest global launch of smartphones while in the midst of their transition from their current BlackBerry OS to QNX. We heard reports earlier state that the first QNX BlackBerry smartphone which was codnamed COLT will be rushed to the market and will lack BES support. Could this be one of several explanations as to why?
