BlackBerry Priv

BlackBerry has released its first official photos of the BlackBerry Priv today, continuing the gradual flow of information on the Android-powered slider since it became official last week.

DTEK app

The first round of images focus on the phone’s slim profile, though they mostly show what we’ve already seen within leaked photos. However, one of the images appears to show an app called “DTEK” upon close examination. The icon for the app includes a BlackBerry logo, and what appears to be the shadow of a person standing in a doorway. It’s currently unknown what BlackBerry intends to do with this, though it may be part of BlackBerry’s focus on enhancing privacy.

Official details are still lacking, but the Priv is expected to feature a Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB of RAM, a 5.4-inch Quad HD display, an 18MP camera, and a 5MP front-facing camera. BlackBerry claims it will launch this fall, with rumours pointing at a November release.
