Yellow Pages and Poynt Sign Five Year Deal for Canadian Business Content

Apparently Poynt, the mobile local search services provider says they have struck a five-year agreement with Yellow Pages Group. The collaboration will allow content on Canadian businesses for its phone applications. No financial details of the deal were made public during the announcement, but Poynt said it will pay an annual licensing fee. Poynt will use Yellow Pages information on its applications for the BlackBerry, iPhone, Android and Windows Phone 7 smartphones. It was also reported that the company’s services will also be advertised through Yellow Page’s digital advertising division Mediative.

“Yellow Pages Group has been a tremendous partner as we have evolved and grown,” said Poynt CEO Andrew Osis in a release.
“We are pleased to continue this relationship as we continue to provide relevant, compelling data to consumers as they go about their daily lives.”
“Our agreement with Poynt emphasizes the opportunities our content can create for local search apps and how YellowAPI can drive additional visibility to our advertisers through partners such as Poynt,” said Yellow Pages Group chief marketing officer Stephane Marceau.
