HTML5, JavaScript and CSS to power ARchitect Worlds

Yes, it’s that time of the year again, BlackBerry World and BlackBerry 10 Jam are happening this week in Orlando, Florida. Bringing together BlackBerry partners, developers, customers and enthusiasts alike, Wikitude is excited to be part of this big annual event. Wikitude is pleased to announce its support for the upcoming BlackBerry® 10 platform. The world’s first and leading Augmented Reality platform will be first of its kind on this new platform.

“We are really excited by the possibilities provided to us by the BlackBerry 10 platform to bring immersive and interactive Augmented Reality experiences to BlackBerry customers,” said Wikitude CEO, Martin Herdina.

Going far beyond the AR possibilities of yesterday, Wikitude is carving out the Augmented Reality experience of tomorrow.  Based on the Wikitude ARchitect engine, Wikitude for BlackBerry 10 will give consumers and developers a wide range of interactivity including multimedia support, field of vision triggers and animations to name only a few. And best of all, Wikitude ARchitect for BlackBerry 10 will enable AR developers to utilize simple yet powerful web technologies like HTML5, JavaScript and CSS for the creation of engaging and exciting AR Worlds. Wikitude looks forward to introducing the Wikitude World Browser to BlackBerry 10 users later this year.

“Augmented Reality applications have gained a lot of exposure and interest in the market, and Wikitude has done an amazing job of bringing AR to mobile,” said Martyn Mallick, Vice President Global Alliances and Business Development at Research In Motion. “With support from innovative companies like Wikitude, the BlackBerry 10 platform will be a content and sharing powerhouse.”
