Shortly after I did an article on BlackBerry taking shots at WhatsApp, someone pointed out to me that WhatsApp initially attacked BlackBerry via their Facebook page, yesterday. WhatsApp posted the above picture, along with an update in text that read:
Do you think Blackberry is dead? TAG you friends you know they still using it!
This just goes to show that WhatsApp is taking BBM as a serious threat, I don’t blame them as a former WhatsApp user, BBM is 100 times better with a smoother overall experience. Once BlackBerry updates their BBM app for iPhone and Android to include the core features BBM has on BlackBerry which are video, voice and Channels I don’t see WhatsApp being a threat to BBM until/unless they somehow get their security vulnerabilities patched up, unfortunately they have long ways to go there.
Yes. WhatsApp has 100+ million more active users than BBM, however BBM just launched on iPhone and Android one week ago, give it some time, that will change soon!
