BlackBerry Balance.The name is pretty much self explanatory. BUT, a balance of what? According to Reuters, RIM is impending release of a software program called “Balance,” which will be loaded on consumer BlackBerry smartphones, to allow a wall on the BlackBerry between personal data,sensitive corporate email and calendaring information. The new idea is to assist CIOs (Chief information officer’s) who struggle with personal handhelds brought into the corporation.
Sharp presents the software as RIM’s attempt to “arrest a steady erosion of its leadership in the corporate segment as Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone and other consumer-friendly devices make inroads.”
Also, RIM plans to put Balance on the PlayBook tablet as well, with the intention of ultimately giving the Playbook direct access to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server, writes Sharp
