Here’s some great news for any of you that have been waiting for a Vine app to come to BlackBerry 10. The developer knobtviker has just released Whine (which is a Vine client) and it’s now available for all BlackBerry 10 devices. We have been following along with the development of Whine since back in September of last year and let me tell you, knobtviker has put in a lot of time and effort into it. I’m truly looking forward to playing around with Whine on my BlackBerry Q10.
For any of you that may not know what Whine is here’s a description of the app.
Whine is more than a Vine viewer, you can record and upload your vines. Create short, beautiful, looping videos in a simple and fun way for your friends and family to see. Unlimited features available. Post videos on Vine, then share to Twitter, Facebook, BBM or other social networks!
knobtviker has even explained what permissions are needed:
- access_shared – Used for saving a video.
- read_device_identifying_information – Used for error reporting.
- access_pimdomain_contacts – Used for connecting with your friends.
- use_camera – Used for recording a video.
- record_audio – Used for recording sound in a video.
- access_led_control – Used for blinking red light when recording a video.
- access_location_services – Used for connecting to Foursquare.
This application uses the Vine API and is not endorsed or certified by Vine. All Vine logos and trademarks displayed on this application are property of Vine and used from Vine Logo Kit.
If you’re ready to check out Whine, a native Vine client for BlackBerry 10 head on over to BlackBerry World and download it now, it’s FREE!! Please remember that even though the app is free the developer has spent many months developing this app for the BlackBerry 10 platform so if you would like to donate something to thank him there is an in-app donation menu.
