While I’m in the office looking at the hands-on photos of the upcoming Torch 9810 posted by BG my buddy who owns a Torch 9800 walks in. I sit him down next to me and we begin to examine his Torch 9800 next to the photos of the Torch 2 9810. Instead of spotting differences, the first thing I noticed was a likeness.

Check out the photo to the left (Torch 2 9810) and the photo on the right (Torch 9800). Clearly, we can see the Torch 2 9810 will be powered by the same FS-1 1300 mAh battery. As we know it, one of the bigger complaints surrounding the Torch 9800 has been its weak battery life. Will the FS-1 battery be enough to the keep up with the 1.2GHz processor? How about that 640×480 screen resolution upgrade?
looking at the official BlackBerry comparison page, the Torch provides roughly between 5.5-5.8 hours of talk time and 14-18 days of standby. What do you’all BlackBerry users think? Are you Torch users still going to upgrade knowing it will have the same battery? Will non Torch users continue to stay away from the Torch 2 now knowing it will come with the same Torch 9800 battery? Let us know!
