Bundled in my T-Mobile mail was a letter from their insurance partner, Asurion, letting me know that my Premium Handset Protection insurance service is set to increase to $7.99 from $5.99. Regardless which insurance package you may have, expect a two dollar increase plus watch out for an additional $5 service warranty processing fee for the warranty portion. Subscribers can also expect to receive free next business day shipping. Premium holders as myself are also allowed access to the new Mobile Security which will both happen June 15th, 2011.
The pamphlet reads:
Effective June 15, 2011, some details for your coverage will change, including a premium increase of $2/month for the warranty portion. In the event that you submit a warranty claim, a $5 service warranty processing fee will apply; however, under your Premium Handset Warranty coverage, you will be entitled to next business day shipping at no additional charge. Finally, there has been a change to the covered accessories under your Premium Handset Protection insurance program.
The covered accessory change reads that the earpiece will no longer be covered. Like it or not, it’s going to happen but you always have the option to cancel your insurance plan at any moment, for free. One time I “lost” my BlackBerry and only had to pay a $130.00 deductible, whereas purchasing a $500 Bold.
