After I got home from the university I fired up my PC to catch up on some emails and tweets where I discovered an interesting article stating that Twitter is warning users of the 3rd party Twitter client, UberSocial, that direct messages being sent back and forth may not be private. Its been reported that neither company is providing complete details of the problem, but from the image above, you can see the @safety account letting us know of the issue. Keep in mind the issue affects direct messages longer than 140 characters sent using the “d username” command, reports Twitter.
Twitter said it was working with UberSocial to bring the applications “into compliance” with its “privacy policies.” Meanwhile, it said, “please be aware of this vulnerability.”
