Small glimpse of BlackBerry Shield

BlackBerry Shield, which is in development, will be free for BIS users and will be entering the testing phase in the near future.  BlackBerry Shield has some neat features to check out, which include the option to allow users to perform a “Remote Device Wipe.”  Users will be able to remove all data from the device and memory card remotely. More features Below.

  • Display “Lost & Found”You can set the sentence on the display screen. For example, a message displaying, “lost  BlackBerry”  can appear. 
  •  Remotely set the password on the BlackBerry-  The Ability to Remotely set the password on your BlackBerry Device
  •  A loud bell A very loud bell to help locate your BlakBerry even while the “lost” message is displayed.
  •  Tracking devicesRemotely track your device using GPS  
  •  Create wireless backups and restore. They can be set automatically to exercise in the given time intervals (may be effected by a cellular network or WiFi – it is possible to set the backup only via WiFi) Backup – Wireless Back up and restore The backup can be set automatically if this exercise in the given time Intervals (may be effected by a cellular network or WiFi – is it Possible to set the backups via WiFi only)

     No official word on when this will be released in a beta, or a test form. Hopefully soon, so the device tracking can be put to use!!
