Full announcement:

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Saudi Telecom (STC) and BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB) today announced integrated carrier billing for BlackBerry® smartphone customers in KSA, allowing customers to quickly, conveniently and securely purchase apps for their phone on the BlackBerry® World™ storefront, and have the charges directly applied to their standard Saudi Telecom (STC) bill.

To make secure purchases and payments on BlackBerry World, customers will be required to enter their BlackBerry ID username and password. Abdullah Alkanhal, Marketing GM at STC said, “The launch of integrated carrier billing on BlackBerry World makes it easier for our customers to enjoy the host of quality apps on BlackBerry World, and maximize their BlackBerry smartphone experience. It marks a significant step for STC to make mobile payments for app purchases simple and secure.”

Nick Horton, Managing Director for the Middle East at BlackBerry said, “BlackBerry smartphone customers in Saudi Arabia want a convenient and safe payment solution for the purchase of mobile content. Integrated carrier billing on BlackBerry smartphones will open up a rich avenue for Saudi Telecom customers to easily and securely purchase apps and games on BlackBerry World.”
