RIM’s Answer to iMessage

long with Apple’s announcement of iOS5 and iCloud came to what most critics have said is “the nail in the coffin for RIM” with the release of iMessage, an exclusive messaging system within iOS devices containing delivery and read confirmation integrated into one messaging location. Sounds great on paper and on looks good on camera but behind the scenes issues have been brought up by end users, none that have ever come out of a BlackBerry user. In a tough battle to stay on top, RIM has answered to iMessage.

RIM’s answer to iMessage is in its upcoming BBM 6 which will be native to the upcoming Bold Touch 99xx launching towards the Fall. BBM 6 will feature for the first time, API’s beyond the control of RIM. Developers who construct third party apps will now have the official BBM APIs with the appropriate SDK. BBM 6 is not only going to be availbale for users running the new generation smartphones, but users running Blackberry 6 and even Os5 will have BBM 6 official available at one point, keeping BBM users united.
