The Hack-a-thon, which will be held on March 30-31, aims to provide an opportunity for students to “learn how to develop in HTML5 and take mobile apps to the next level” with BlackBerry® WebWorks™ platform.

RIM’s Developer Relations team will be guiding students while they explore and develop their own app ideas or choose from topics suggested by RIM prior to the event.  With expert guidance, students will work on implementing their ideas as a BlackBerry smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook app.

Three winners will be chosen by judges from Pace University and RIM after the two-day event.  Prizes are in store for the winners, including “free participation at one of RIM’s upcoming developer conferences.”
