According to reports, RIM has considered expanding the BlackBerry platform across India by evaluating investment opportunities in the manufacturing and logistics arena. RIM’s Chief Information Officer Robin Bienfait even stopped in India for some research.
“Robin plans to further explore such (investment)possibilities in India during her visit,” the company said in a statement.
Its been calculated that there are well over a million BlackBerry users in India with high growth rates of third-generation networks.
“India is an important and strategic market for RIM and its exciting and fast growing mobile sector offers major potential for further expansion,” it said in the statement.
