RIM Marketing: BlackBerry Sponsors NBA Halftime Report on ESPN

It looks like we’re starting to see some marketing dollars from RIM in the limelight. Earlier today while watching the first of four NBA games this Sunday I noticed that BlackBerry was the official sponsor of the NBA Halftime Report. The early games were on the ABC network which featured the New York Knicks at the Boston Celtics and the second game, the Miami Heat at the Los Angeles Lakers. In addition to the BlackBerry Halftime Report was the Bold Play of the Game, also sponsored by BlackBerry.

It’s really good to see RIM stepping up in their marketing game right after the new CEO Thorsten Heins took reigns of the company. With PlayBook OS 2.0 fresh off the pate and the BlackBerry 10 transition coming up, it’s important that RIM steps up in the marketing department and gets the word out.

Aside from the BlackBerry Halftime Report and the Bold Play of the Game there were plenty of BlackBerry commercials airing throughout the game as well. Keep it up RIM!
