This is new, sort of. While digging through old emails and media, I came across this press release that I think has gone unnoticed, at least to us Empire members. With all the security talks in the Middle East, and even with China supporting the BlackBerry platform, leaves a country overlooked, Japan. How is Japan doing in the mix of all this BlackBerry talk that has seemed to hit worldwide? Sure Japan is a leader in the advancement of technology, not to mention they design some of the worlds most efficient and economical cars, but what where do they stand BlackBerry-wise? Well let me give you an idea.. The press release I found dated July 30th, says that RIM debuted the sleek and powerful BlackBerry® Bold™ 9700 smartphone in Japan. The new Bold 9700 delivers an extensive array of high-end communications and multimedia features in a compact and highly refined design that will appeal to users for both professional and personal use. The Bold 9700 is now available at NTT docomo shops and authorized retailers.
