In an interview with the Financial Post, RIM Co-CEO Jim Balsillie has confirmed that the upcoming BlackBerry mobile platform name will be “BBX”. According to Jim, the motor that has been built for the BBX platform will be the driving force into the future.  “We’ve completely had to re-engineer ourselves for the future,” Mr. Balsillie said.

“We’ve leapfrogged everyone with what we’re announcing [on Tuesday] and you’re going to see it on display,” Mr. Balsillie said in an interview.

“We built an engine back in the mid-90s that served us incredibly well for 15 years, and in the past couple of years, we’ve had to build the engine of the future while still driving the engine we’ve got.”

Now that DevCon is officially here, we can really get to see what BBX is made of. What do you’all think? Like or dislike the name for the upcoming QNX handhelds?
