Just as I expected and reported. The “analysts” aren’t even half right on this one, rather waaay off target. Earlier in the week Kaufman Bros.Shaw Wu, said the tablet is facing significant battery problems which in turn has led to a slight delay. Problem is, they are wrong. I had a strong feeling from the start this was a hoax. Even over at the CB blog, Kevin wrote that he has more faith in his sources than Wu’s, and I believe it. Apart from sources, I’ve been following this company for years now, and I’ve spotted many inaccuracies in their reporting, problems with their sampling, and even holes in their polling. RIM has come out and Boldly denied those diluting comments.
“Any testing or observation of battery life to date by anyone outside of RIM would have been performed using pre-beta units that were built without power management implemented. RIM is on track with its schedule to optimize the BlackBerry PlayBook’s battery life and looks forward to providing customers with a professional grade tablet that offers superior performance with comparable battery life.”
Launch date in the US is set to be between Feb and March of next year. Another thing, tgdaily said this. “2010 has been a terrible year for Blackberry…..” For starters, they can’t even spell the word BlackBerry correct, so off the bat they lose credibility. Across the nation BlackBerry may not be #1 but globally, 2010 has been a very successful year for RIM. People all over the world are getting introduced to the BlackBerry solution and loving it. The pandemic really arose in 2010, so we’ll see what 2011 brings. They also reported “sales outlooks are already poor for the Playbook, with a meager few million expected in its first year.” Few million in a time of recession doesn’t sound poor to me, and it’s only the beginning.
