PlayBook Landing in Australia Carrying Higher Price

It’s been reported that Australia’s Harvey Norman has partnered up with RIM and starting Monday 20 June 2011, the PlayBook will be available for purchase. One thing interesting is that the 16GB Wi-Fi model will start a RRP $579, the 32GB Wi-Fi PlayBook at RRP $689 and the 64GB model at RRP $799.

If you notice, these prices are slightly higher than the U.S. prices, which fall at $499, $599 and $699. The reason being is that the pricing in Australia is traditionally higher than in the United States due to ‘standard of living and economies of scale’.
