Yesterday our good friend and moderator ninjasteeze hit me up on BBM and gave me the heads up that Photobucket Mobile For BlackBerry Updated to v2.1. Things got pretty busy with back to school, so i’m a day late getting this out to you. None the less, here ya go. I’m not a Photobucket user, but I do know it is popular, and some people do make use for it. I have no change log for you, sorry! If one comes out, we will update the post with the new features. But these are the key features, taken from the app itself. If you wanted to update it.
FIND STUFF PAGE: Browse categories and subcategories, and share and download photos. Search to find specific groups of photos. Navigate with the “Prev” and “Next” buttons or menu items. Use the “Back” key to return to the top level of the Find Stuff page and to close Photobucket Mobile.
MY ALBUMS PAGE: Shows the albums in your Photobucket account when you are logged in. On the menu, use “View Albums” to choose a different album and “Refresh View” to reload thumbnails in the current album.
UPLOAD PAGE: Login to your account and upload photos: Press “Choose photo to upload”, and select the desired photo from local storage or your media card. Previously uploaded photos are marked with green checkmark. The status of in progress, pending, and failed uploads displays on the main Upload page.
AUTOMATIC UPLOAD: You can also upload all of your photos automatically as soon as you take them. The first time you login to the application, a dialog asks if you want to turn auto-upload on. On the Settings page, you can turn auto-upload on or off, select where on the device you want the application to look for new photos, and choose the Photobucket album to which you want the images uploaded.
UPLOAD PAGE MENU ITEMS:
* Pause Uploads: Pauses the upload queue to stop data usage when roaming.
* Retry Failed: Attempts to upload photos in the queue that failed (red X).
* Remove Failed: Removes photos from the queue that failed (red X).
* Remove Pending: Removes photos from the queue that are not uploaded and did not fail.
FULL-SCREEN PHOTO OPTIONS:
* Share In Email: Opens a new email message with a link to the current photo and the default subject/body text (change the defaults in the Settings page.) If you do not have email setup on your phone, you cannot share in email.
* Save To My Phone: Downloads a full-resolution copy of the current photo to your phone.
* Copy To My Album: Places a copy of the current photo in your Default Upload Album (change the default album in the Settings page.)
* Report Abuse: Opens a new email message to Photobucket with a link to the “offensive” photo. Submissions are reviewed based on the Photobucket Terms of Service. If you do not have email setup on your phone, report the image via the Photobucket web site.
* Copy to Clipboard: Opens a dialog that allows you to copy the URL for the current photo to the BlackBerry clipboard so you can share it with others. Available URLs are: email, direct link, HTML, and IMG (for blogs and wikis).
SETTINGS PAGE:
* Login: Opens the login page where you can login to your Photobucket account, sign up and create a new account, or retrieve a lost password.
* Logout: Logs you out of the current Photobucket account.
* Automatic upload: Check this to automatically upload all the photos you take on your BlackBerry to your Photobucket account. Choose one, or both, of:
— Device Memory: Check this to auto-upload using a directory on your BlackBerry’s internal device memory. Click the text below this option to select the directory to upload from.
— Memory Card: Check this to auto-upload using a directory on your BlackBerry’s external memory card (if your device has one). Click the text below this option to select the directory to upload from.
* Default Upload Album: The album to which all photos are uploaded, and the destination when you “Copy to My Album” from the full-screen view.
* Default Upload Title and Description: Sets the default title and description for all uploaded photos.
* Email Share Subject and Message: Sets the default subject/body text that displays when you choose “Share In Email” on full-size view. You can change this text before you send a message.
