Orange introduces the Orange Book Club App to celebrate 16th year of Orange Prize for Fiction

Orange today announced the launch of the Orange Book Club Android app, allowing customers to seamlessly browse and download thousands of books, including those from the Orange Prize for Fiction, straight to their connected smartphone or tablet device.

Following the successful launch of the online and mobile web version of Orange Book Club last year, the new app offers book lovers a more integrated and improved experience. Browsing from over 23,000 eBooks and audio books, a key advantage is the ‘one-click buy’ system which bills straight to the user’s Orange account, without ever having to enter any billing details. The app also introduces cross-platform functionality, allowing Orange users to access their account and read books across multiple devices including their phone, tablet or PC.

Other benefits include sample chapters, bookmarks and personalisation options for editing font, text and background colours. eBooks from as little as 50p are available in the library and includes classics, bestsellers and Orange Prize for Fiction books. The app also houses a major feature section which focuses on previous Orange Prize winners, quotes from each year’s chair of judges and special offers.

The Orange Book Club Android app is compatible with all Android devices and is also available in alternative format for Java, Symbian and Blackberry. Powered by Mobcast, the app can be downloaded via Orange World, the Android Marketplace or online at www.orange.co.uk/bookclub
