RIM and the BlackBerry PlayBook are hitting the ice, partnering with the NHLPA to give fans a behind the scenes look into the lives of five NHL stars. Creating the ultimate power play, Scott Hartnell (Philadelphia Flyers), Bobby Ryan (Anaheim Ducks), Joffrey Lupul (Toronto Maple Leafs), Martin Biron (New York Rangers) and Michael Grabner (New York Islanders) will use the BlackBerry PlayBook to capture their activities off the ice. From family life to life on the road, from shopping trips to autograph sessions, all the action captured by players will be recorded in glorious 1080P HD and edited into video highlights.
The BlackBerry PlayBook comes packed with a blazingly fast 1 GHz dual core processor, a high resolution 7” multi-touch display, up to 10 hours of battery life and 1080P HD Video capabilities with front and rear facing cameras. Fans get to do more than watch; they also get to call the shots:
- Fan’s Choice Video: Every week an online poll will allow fans to choose what video they would be most interested in watching based on where the players are and what’s happening at the time.
- Question & Answer: Fans can ask players questions via the home website or by posting a comment on YouTube. Every week, the players will respond to fan submitted questions and challenges.
