MTN (Mobile Telephone Network) announced the BlackBerry Torch will be available today in South Africa.
MTN South Africa today have announched the launch of the BlackBerry Torch 9800 smartphone in their region. According to MTN, the device is ideal for socially connected consumers and packed with the tools business customers love.
“We live in an age where people want to connect to the Internet and their social networks at anytime and from anywhere. MTN is committed to ensuring it offers its customers innovative solutions that meet their diverse needs and communication requirements,” says Serame Taukobong, Chief Marketing Officer at MTN South Africa.
MTN were unable to provide details about the packaging for the Torch but I did some digging around and found out that the device will physically be availble until the first week of November. Although the announcement has been made for today, it seems they won’t actually see it for around another week or so. Vodacom already launched the BlackBerry Torch 9800 in SA on its Talk 100 package for R349 per month, which includes unlimited on-device surfing, email and other data usage that isn’t media streaming.
