iPhone 4 loses reception when steel band touched? Apple says it’s your fault for holding it like an idiot.

A large amount of iPhone 4 users have stated that when you hold the brand new phone from the bottom left part of the steel band that encircles the device, the iPhone 4 quickly loses its cell signal. Several videos have surfaced on blogs where users hold the “new” device from the bottom left part of the steel band and the signal strengh fades away and decreases. Once the device gets set to a hard surface such as a table, immediately the signal strength comes back up.

Now we can cut apple some slack on the faulty issues. Surely, there is always a small margin of error, but Steve Jobs should have the courtesy to reply to his loyal customers with respect and some dignity. If you are unaware of Steve Job’s Response, this is what he had to say, “Just avoid holding it in that way”.

Apple also stated, “Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.

The iPhone 4 has a clear design flaw, and Apple blamed its customers for using the device incorrectly? Hold it right there!

Let’s not beat around the bush: Apple screwed up. Badly.  Job’s and his crew didn’t bother to test the reception issue properly, or they did and just figured buyers wouldn’t care that a phone already notorious for dropped calls could potentially get even worse cell reception.
