By now you’ve probably heard of Meebo’s move to shut down its messenger service on July 11, 2012. No need to worry though, because your all around instant messaging app, imo, launched a new service today to help former Meebo messenger users to continue staying connected to their networks.

The new service being offered by imo allows former Meebo users to join their network and download and import all previous chat logs and share histories directly to the imo platform. Instead of losing important conversations, imo is providing a way for former Meebo users on BlackBerry operating systems to continue the same conversations on the imo Messenger platform.
Here’s how you can import your Meebo history into imo:
- Visit
- Enter your Meebo account details, then select “Download chat logs”
- Sign in on imo.im with all of the accounts you want to import your chat history from
- In the accounts menu select “Preferences“
- On the Preferences page select “Import Chat History”
- Choose the file where your Meebo chat history is saved, then select “Import”
