If you picked up a BlackBerry PlayBook and want to set and change a custom wallpaper, there are a few simple steps needed to follow in order for your background to be changed. At first it can sound confusing but once going through the motions you’ll find it quite simple.

Changing and setting the wallpaper background can be done if you’ve taken a photo or saved an image using the web browser from your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. All you need to do is the following:

  1. Open the Pictures application on your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet.
  2. Find and open the picture you want to set as your wallpaper.
  3. Swipe down from the top bezel and select Set as Wallpaper.

*TIP: In case you’re wondering, to save an image while using the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet browser, tap and hold for a few seconds, then select Save Image from the dialog box that appears.

As I mentioned above, to save an image simply tap and hold pic for a few seconds, then select Save Image from the dialog box that appears.

Then give your photo a name!

Head to your Pictures icon, open it up and you’ll notice a new album titled “downloads” has appeared within your native pictures application.

Swipe down from the top bezel and select Set as Wallpaper and wait for the confirmation notification “setting as wallpaper.”

Congratulations! You have just set and changed your BlackBerry PlayBook’s wallpaper background. I told you once going through the motions things would get easy.
