How-To: Remove BlackBerry Messenger Calendar with BBSAK

Hello everyone. I’m the new Writer On The Block (WOTB) Ren. I’m not one who tends to stay focused on one website to much but do love breaking things. So lets get right into it.

If you don’t know by now BlackBerry Swiss Army Knife (BBSAK) is a very useful PC application (free to download but does take donations to further improve the app) for use to do many things with your BlackBerry. Today I’d like to show you one way to use it.

So some of you may be getting popups when adding calendar items asking to share with your bbm groups or getting them from group members and just don’t want them. There is a way to stop that and it is to remove a single cod from your BB.

More button >>>

Hook up your BB to your PC by usb cable. Launch BBSAK.Enter your password if you have one or enter if none.

Enter Password

Click on the “Modify CODs” tab.

Modify CODs

Click on th “Read System” button.

Read System

Look for net_rim_bbgroup_calendar. Click it. Then hit th “Remove” Button.

Remove

Now BBSAK will remove the cod when its finished it will say “Files Erased Duccessfully!”. Hit enter and your BB will reboot.

Files erased Successfully!

When your BlackBerry comes back on go to BlackBerry Messenger and in any group you will see that the “Group Calendar” section has been successfully removed.

You can follow same steps and remove photos (net_rim_bbgroup_photos) and lists (net_rim_bbgroup_lists) as well (both highlighted above).

Warning: Do not remove any other (net_rim_bbgroup_*) cods or you can lose all groups or even BlackBerry Messenger itself.
