It is a wrap from Day 2 of BlackBerry Jam Americas, lots of exciting news regarding the future of RIM’s plans moving forward, BlackBerry 10 & the Developer community. All looking great and positive. RIM sent us a few highlights we would like to share with you all.
Today completed Day 2 from BlackBerry Jam Americas in San Jose. There was a lot of excitement from the developer community around the new Developer Elite Program and the advantages it will bring to not only developers involved, but also to the BlackBerry user community as a whole. The program works to recognize developers who amplify the BlackBerry message and serve as an advocate within their own networks. To see more on this program, click here.
Additionally, media participated in two panels. The panel “Flow between Social and Engaging Apps” focused on how developers are finding new ways to bring users content and engage them to share it. The panel members highlighted how the BlackBerry 10 platform enables sharing and collaboration in applications and how that leads to increased awareness about applications. The panel “Extend Into the Realm of Gaming” centered on how leading game developers are leveraging the BlackBerry 10 platform’s beautiful user interface and innovative process architecture to bring gaming to a new level.
The BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha testing device program has been a great success and due to the high demand, today RIM is distributing a second round of BlackBerry 10 Dev Alpha testing devices. Registered developers at the event received Dev Alpha B devices to bring back to their labs and start testing apps before the October 10 opening of the certification lab and in preparation for the January 21st deadline for apps to be posted to App World to qualify for The 10k Developer Commitment.
