Lately the BlackBerry Beta Zone has become the true Crack Spot for BlackBerry enthusiasts as RIM has given the opportunity to let Beta Zone members test the newest apps and solutions for BlackBerry such as Facebook 2.0, BBM 6.0, Mobile Conferencing and more. Before users can start using the awesome programs available in the Beta Zone, a keycode is required which often times, users have no clue as to what and where their keycodes are at. Waiting around for RIM is no fun for both parties, so RIM has added the ability to allow users to generate their own program keycodes. Check below for steps provided by RIM so that you can get going on programs that have been delayed due to keycode issues.
You can now generate your own keycode. First login to BlackBerry Beta Zone athttps://www.blackberry.com/beta and follow the instructions outlined below to generate your keycode.
Please make sure to update your PIN under the Profiles tab on the BlackBerry Beta Zone homepage.
To complete the keycode generation:
1) Go to My Account
2) Select the Keycodes tab
3) Select Get Latest Keycode for your BlackBerry applications
If you do not receive the confirmation email containing a new keycode within 10-15 minutes, please check your spam or bulk email folders.
If all this information is up-to-date and you are unable to generate your own keycode, you can also try the following workaround:
• Login to Beta Zone via your BlackBerry smartphone
• Browse to the program you need a keycode for under “My Programs”
• Navigate to the “Downloads” tab
• Click through to the download
• When prompted to replace your current application version, click “No”
• This will initiate the generation of a keycode which will be sent to the email address linked to your Beta Zone account
