Game Review: Catapult! for BlackBerry

catapult

Catapult! is a new game for BlackBerry where the object is to launch a Rock across a
field….Is that all? Nope, there’s a lot more. Keep in mind, like many new games out today the goal is to get a highest score possible. When starting the game you get a big sling shot with a boulder in it. You can then adjust the angle of your shot to get proper leverage. Once your angle is all set, you’re ready to click your trackpad/trackball to give your shot Power.

When the boulder is in the air there are a few things that will determine how far
your shot will go and how many points you’ll earn. (important)

  • Sand boxes – They stop your boulder in its track.
  • Spring boards (that’s what I call them) – They help you by increasing the speed, height and distance of your boulder.
  • Floating targets -Hitting one of these would give you a whopping 10, 000 points extra , hitting the requires Skill and luck.
  • The Ground – The ground obviously stops your boulder but not like the sand boxes, the ground gives you a few small bounces and a short roll acquiring you a few extra points.

Something that draws my attention and brings out my competitive side is the Submit High Score option that when selected, takes you to a neat little web page that displays your
current position in The World.

Overall, this game is addictive and a fun. “time-killer”. It’s the kind of game that I would play on a bus ,train, boring Dr’s lobby, or even at school in between classes or at lunch time.
