According to research firm Gartner, mobile apps will be downloaded more than 268 billion times, generating revenue of more than $77 billion by 2017, underscoring the need and opportunity for mobile app developers. In order to encourage students to consider a career in mobile development, the Inside BlackBerry Developer blog will be running a BlackBerry Developer Education series. The posts will feature first-hand accounts from BlackBerry staff on taking developer courses in college, as they relate their own experiences that lead them to the careers they have today. In addition, blog posts will highlight student development projects around the globe and the resources that students have available to them from BlackBerry to help them get started on their first mobile app, or get help in expanding and growing their current mobile projects.
