Dell Ditching BlackBerry, Handing Employees Dell Smartphones

Reuters has reported that Dell is going to ditch BlackBerry and give their employees Delll smartphones. Currently, out of the 100,000 hired employees Dell has, around 25,000 will be affected by the switch. Dell’s BlackBerry users will be handed the new Dell Venue Pro, which runs on Microsoft’s new Windows Phone 7 software and operates on the network of T-Mobile USA, the U.S. arm of Deutsche Telekom AG. Why the switch? According to Reuters, this was a money saving decision for Dell. As for the employees, kiss BBM goodbye.
