Google is at it again. This time they are teaming up with Dell and are expected to release its Chrome computer operating system in the “late fall”. Dell’s President for Greater China and South Asia, Amit Midha, has stated that “There are going to be unique innovations coming up in the marketplace in two, three years, with a new form of computing, we want to be on that forefront … So with Chrome or Android or anything like that we want to be one of the leaders,”
It is clear that leaders in the computing industry are now teaming up with mobile phone devlopers and implementing services into one device. With Apple having rights over the iPhone, HP buying of Palm, and now Dell teaming up with Google, what is in store for RIM’s future?
Clearly these browsers are only going to get faster, which leaves me wondering what RIM has in store for the BlackBerry. The BlackBerry operating system is already one of a kind, so it will be interesting to see how RIM keeps up with not only the mobile phone industry, but the computing business as well. Could we see RIM team up with someone else in the future? Who knows? One thing that is known however, is that RIM is already in the process of creating its own version of the Tablet. With the iPad out, and the finalization of Dell’s Streak pad powered by Google, BlackBerry users await more details concerning the BlackBerry Tablet.
